Hi geo - welcome to the forum!

The funny thing is I have no block heater on my 2017 SR I just bought,,,,
Yeah, it was standard equipment on all trims when the Micra came out in 2014, but now it's a dealer option. Probably a cost-saving / profit-increasing tactic.

Going to make a garage page for your car?

    Garage empty: add car

Hi!! Just got a 2018.5 Micra S. Really surprised of how fun it is to drive. Anyone knows if there's still a block heater in that model? Maybe it's me but I can't find it! Thx!!

oh... I see it's now a dealer option. I guess it's a good idea to add one. Any recommendation? Worth it? Idea of price?

It USED to be standard equipment when the car came out as a 2015 model. I think it was still standard on the 2016 cars, but not from 2017 on.

Worth it? Only you can decide! It gives you cabin heat sooner, reduces cold start engine wear, reduces fuel consumption slightly, and is more environmentally & mechanically friendly than idling the car to warm it up.

FYI, here are some more threads about Micra block heaters:

i use it pretty much 8 months of the year in Vancouver, the engine doesn't high idle when it starts on the heater, my 2015 has a block heater and 4 speakers....if you buy a more expensive 2018 you get no block heater and 2 speakers (in the S) and dont even get me started on the cabin filter....LOL
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!
