Good to know the Micra will keep us protected from a hard rear impact like that. Sad to see it put to the test.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

I didn't notice then but the pic looks like it pushed the spare tire right up thru the floor as it looks like it in the back window.

How you feeling now? Any better?

FYI: I mentioned to my dad about this (he's a retired judge). He suggested you don't sign anything from her insurance company right away. His experience is that complications from rear crash injuries (like whiplash) can crop up weeks or months afterward and can become expensive if it requires time off work and treatment.

A little better today not as foggy in the brain but still real sore specifically the front of my neck(really hurts to yawn) and my right arm from the elbow up. Taking tomorrow off work to try to recover a bit more.

Well, add another one. I got hit tonight. Rather lightly. But enough to to mess up the rear bumper with some decent scratches. Will go for quote and such tomorrow.
I'm fine. Was just a light walk in the ass you might say.

    glad to see you're ok.

with that level of crash, expect complications down the road.

and on that note: i hgihly advise AGAINST taking off the car for parts. unlesss you really dont trust your own insurance company (but in that case, why be with them), let them do the settlement with you for a Total loss, and of course handle your injury portion too. That said, im not too familiar with Ontario insurance companies so YMMV.

    hell of a crash.
