Progress shot with my fantabulously fake 'ebay' nismo badge... and frame mounted splitter (standing on the nose weighing 255 is weird) with infinity wings / flares etc.

    Beautiful locale, SVRally! Envious.

Rupert, nice shots as well. My favourite:

Doing a little bit of light off-roading?

4 years and 50,000 km later....The Continuing Adventures of the "Little Guy"

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted on this board; my sincerest apologies but we had to go "off the grid" for a while to take care of a few things...It's good to be back, and here's what the Little Guy's been up to for the last little while...

We just took him in for his 48,000 km servicing; so far the only major problem was the "dreaded Micra wheel bearing failure" (the bearing in the right rear wheel started to go a few weeks ago & it was getting quite loud; apparently this is something that Micras are known for, based of what I've seen on the net). Thankfully it was still covered under the powertrain warranty, so all's good.

One of the headlights recently burned out, so we replaced them both with Hella Optilux Extreme White XB H4 Xenon bulbs:

They have a slight blue-white tint to them, and appear to light up the road better in bad weather (rain & snow) than the factory bulbs.

The next addition were the black G3 Roof Rails from Mick's Garage, cost only $130 Canadian and we received them about a week after ordering them:

They fit perfectly and match the Little Guy's trim. Next we slapped on the old Karrite Exlorer 18 cubic foot cargo pod we salvaged from the car the Little Guy replaced (a 2001 Suzuki Esteem station wagon):

The total height on top of Little Guy with the lid closed is about 6 ft 6 inches; our condo parkade garage door is 6 ft 8 inches so we cleared it with 2 inches to spare; if you're getting one of these things please be mindful of your clearance where you park or drive under...

Notice we also had the "bug net" on...saves on damage to the front radiator grille from bugs and small stones...

    Talking

The cargo pod effectively tripled Little Guy's cargo capacity; you now have room for 5 and ALL their luggage, as per our recent trip to Riding Mountain National park in Friendly Manitoba, Canada:

Cargo capacity of an SUV while using only 1/2 the gas, easier to park too!

Other than one of the rear wheel bearings wearing out prematurely, we've had no problems or major expenses with the Little Guy other than regularly scheduled maintenance and the after market add-ons. We're looking forward to another 50,000 to 100,000 km of more adventures!

It's about 45 min to an hour to the northeast of The Battlefords, on a variety of gravel and dirt roads. At times like that I really appreciated installing those after market mud flaps a few years ago, they really save Little Guy's underside from rocks chipping the paint just under the doors & eventually starting rust spots...
