Thread: Juke mr16ddt and 6mt RS6F94R swap (188 HP -- stock -- turbo Micra)

    Juke mr16ddt and 6mt RS6F94R swap (188 HP -- stock -- turbo Micra)

I will be looking into this more. I miss turbos. And since the chassis is basically the same im going give it a whirl.
Not today... But slowly piecing it together.

    Today: july 2015 engine $2000 w/turbo, transmission $1500.
Im assuming ill have to do hubs and **** to match. ( i priced them not bought them)

Pretty sure that ill be getting and aftermarket turbo and rebuild and hi flow the stock one at same time so i have a back up.

Ecu will probably be haltech. Since the only way im going straight factory is if i get nismo engine tranny and ecu for a good price. Doubt it.

Ill keep the 9.5:1 cr or bump it just a little.. Via headgasket and decking.

Goal will be a top tier "B"-Group around 250hp 235ft-lbs of tq @ 1Bar. Ext.WG MAP Sensor system.

While this is the idea. In forza it seems like a good idea.

That would be ambitious and take a while to do but the result would be one of if not the quickest micra/marches on the planet, the quickest micra in north America for sure. The drive axles and hubs would probably be tough as the juke is wider but I guess custom axles and you could retain the micra hubs unless the output shafts from the tranny are the same then you could use the stock axles and hubs no?

    Thats what im hoping.

The c12 and c13 tiida and pulsar use the same chassis and hr16de and mr16ddt engines..

So if all else fails a combination of parts from those vehicles should help.

This chassis seems to take alot of engines / set ups from factory so i should be able to make something work without too much frankenstiening

Stage 1 hybrid rebuilt turbo 275 hp ..

    GReddy emanage

    Intake headers exhaust .... Mmmmmm...
    Well there goes $10k

Heres what ive come up with.
The delta wing used the mr16ddt and made 300bhp and 310Nm(230ft-lbtq)
( chevy parts lol) but also probably restricted.
So my goal is 300hp-300ftlbstq +/-
    Doesnt seem like alot right?

    My er34 gtt skyline 276hp 1450kg = 190hp / ton
    Micra with stock mr16ddt 188hp 1047kg = 180hp /ton
Uprated 300hp/ton .. same as a 435 hp skyline with respect to power - to - weight

    Turbo: tomei arms M7960 ( sr20 450 hp turbo equal to td05 20g)
Ecu : GReddy eManage - map system - engine vitals display
    FMIC: 300mmx150mmx76-100mm ( approx )
Intake plenum and exhaust manifold ( ext. WG )
Injectors: ???? Direct injectors i cant find part number or flow cc ? Little help?? But id need 500cc/cyl +/-
    3" piping and exhaust
    Oil cooler and catch can
4 ch iat : amb., hot side, cold side, t/b spacer
    4 ch egt : 1 per cyl
    Wideband
Wmi kit: 5 gal - ss.lines - injection after intercooler iat probe

    I figure 3.5 years $3500/year
Then after the stock internals say nope .. Upping disp. And CR, with forgies and crank her up.

The arms turbo can handle 24-26psi from a 2.0-2.5ltr
So maybe 30psi? Muah ha ha ha...

Thats my 5 year plan lol..

Mr20 block is good for 500hp and rotating assembly 300whp apparently. So mr16 is probably par or better.

Mod required to passenger side strut tower.
Bracket required for mr16ddt engine mount. Not bad so far..

for 10k, why not just import an evo 6 and eat micras all day?

    3 reasons ;
    1. Evos been done, its common, how many 300hp mr16ddt swap micras do you know of?
    2. Id probably spend $20k playing with an evo.

And really ? Same hp at the crank im pretty sure a 1000kg 300hp micra
    230whp (4.35kg:1whp) vs 1450kg 4wd ( drivetrain loss ) 195whp with extra 450kg (7.44kg/1whp)
    Would smoke the evo.

Lighter weight evo slight hp bump, the gearing and traction would decide. Obv 4wd would have the edge.

    3. Im a SKYLINE guy.. Eff evos.. Lol

I was plotting a map for a GT3071R and I was quite surprised that its fits well.
    The .63 A/R turbine will flow 425hp out of a 1.6ltr 4 cyl.
The avg. psi of 17psi will produce 280crank hp @ 12 AFR
@ 11.5 AFR it only needs 15.7psi to produce the same.

If I crank it up, add some meth+higher oct gas I can squeeze out
    380chp - 11.5 AFR - 6500rpm - 26.5psi
    420chp - 10.5 AFR - 7000rpm - 27psi
But these are less efficient and require a ton of fuel. But the turbo has room to grow, while spooling quickly.
If i need more top end ( unlikely, then i can up the A/R of the turbine housing.
This will spool later( 300-500rpm) but peak higher ( extra 25 hp ) at a better efficiency.

I like the garrett because its rebuildable, with interchangeable parts.
Not to mention reliable compressor maps. So i know what im getting, not just trying to copy someones build and make the same or better ( worse ) numbers. I like happy engines with fat tq bands.

So I can say I do have a "450-500hp" turbo that "can" flow up to 30psi.

But Ill be running it conservatively ( without any lag once-so-ever ) at 17psi.

This will keep the ecu happy ( boost cut at 18psi ) and me happy ( + 90 crank hp)
Engine block is well within it designed limitations ( 500chp) and rotating assembly ( 300whp)

Clutch will need to be uprated.

Ext. WG must be used with the 60mm turbine wheel ( 56.5mm in.WG T25 model is also available )

    Comp. Housing: 756021-1 : 2.75"(68.75mm)IN : 2.0"(50mm)OUT
    Chra: GT3071R : 700177-23 ( 60mm ) ( inwg-700177-3)
    Comp. Whl: 53.1mm indu 71mm exdu 56T
    Turbine whl: 60mm 84T
    Turbine housing : T3 0.63 A/R : 740909-9+
    About $1500 ish

    Yes..... Yea I am.
    Mississauga.

After make a solid parts list, im going to shop around for sponsors and see if anyone wants to bite.
Cheap cars that students can afford are an easy sell as toys, show them its fun, and watch them run with their wallets open.

I mean the jukeR and deltawing got decent press. So is the Micra. Who knows...who cares.... I just wanna build racekar.
