    Aftermarket cruise control, Micra S

    Anyone considered this?

Considering how much of my driving is highway, I missed having it in the Micra S loaner.

I've read about some cars that already have the connectors in the wiring harness, and the ECU is already set up so all you have to do is plug in the switches.

I also see that some Versa S owners with the 1.6L are using an aftermarket Rostra kit (250-9508, $277.50 via eBay), eg:

Not a lot of details in that thread, but at least we know it's been done.

i've always thought the idea of cruise was great...however, it really should have a L/100 cruise rather than speed...
it doesn't matter how many time i make the 401 run from Toronto to Belleville i can't use the cruise, just based on the horrible gas mileage it gets!

Same one would work. We share a wiring loom with the versa note for the HR16DE engine.

Yeah, as far as fuel economy goes, it does the opposite you want it to on the hills. It's reactive instead of proactive.

I just read an article about Audi combining their adaptive cruise control with GPS elevation & mapping info (speed zones, curves, etc) to save fuel. They say it's good for 10% better mileage (vs. normal cruise, I guess).

Post a photo of the on/off/set buttons. Will help identify it.

Looks exactly like the one in the picture above. That could be my car. That said I did find an installation manual on line. There is a short patch cable between the pedal assembly and the body harness.

Does it hook into a connector? Or does it splice directly into wires?

There is a connector to connector patch cables between the pedal and body harness. If it gives me any grief I'll just unplug it and take it right of the system
