Just noticed our annual summertime fuel economy improvement has kicked in:

The fleet average fuel economy just improved from 6.9 to 6.8 L / 100 km! :D Woohoo.

We passed a number of milestones since the last thread update.

On average, members are getting 6.9 L/100 km, handily beating the car's official ratings. Nicely done, Micra drivers!

We passed 90k+ kms tracked in the fuel log recently... on our way to 100k.

Also, the "fleet average" fuel consumption improved for the first time in many months, from 6.7 to 6.6 L/100 km. :)

This month we passed 50,000 km of fuel economy stats in the log. Thanks, everyone who is posting!

6.9 L/100 km = 41 mpg (Imp) = 14.5 km/L = 34.2 mpg...

The difference is in the driving environment, and the driver. Unless you're driving exactly the same route in the same driving style, it's not really possible to compare fuel consumption against...

1) Higher rolling resistance (cold tires, bearings)

Translations: 14.6 km/L = 6.9 L/100 km = 41 mpg (Imp) = 34 mpg (US). Not bad for 100% city driving -- the manual Micra is rated in Canada for 8.6 L/100 km = 11.6 km/L in city...
