yes no problem, as long as your new phone is not a nokia 1100 should be good enough for comparison and to show how a knock free hr16 must sound, also we can compare your engine sound with rob's new engine.
thanks in advance.
Here's another one for the list.http://youtu.be/cqaB2e6O2Lk
Thanks for the welcome MetroMPG! I took my Micra in to the dealership in Calgary, i'm not a huge car buff, or even in the slightest, but when they attempted to explain why the rattling noise was occurring, the dealership mentioned a piece in the engine had fallen out, I would then assume it would have to do with the plastic piece you were referring to, as the rattling noise has subsided quite a bit since I got it back.
However, a new problem that I think people need to be aware of is my Brake Master Cylinder had to be replaced, the brakes were sinking (especially during down hill), (click link to see separate thread on this subject). So they replaced it and sent me on my way.
I just double checked my paperwork and it indicates the Intake Tube was rattling and could be heard in the engine compartment.
JGoedhard sorry too hear that your micra has this problem. That's definately 100% the same issue that me and anonymous had with our engines aswell and we had to have the Longblock replaced. Have you tried pushing your dealership to replace the engine yet? Show them all the videos and Service Invoices about this exact problem and what we had done so they cant sleeze their way out of repairing it. Dont listen to their crap about it never being reported to Nissan Canada either.
so your micra is a 2015 model.
can you share with us the engine number??
your engine has been knocking since brand new like mine and many others, you can be sure about that.
go asap to your dealer and show them this thread and have the problem fixed.
this is ridiculous, another faulty engine.
having less than 700km i will push for a new car, go with a lawyer to the dealer.
I booked an appointment with the dealer for this coming Wednesday regarding the microfilter and a list of other things. Now plus an engine so I will see what they have to say.
i really thought that at least new 2015 models would have the problem fixed (at least in north america, of course south america will still get all faulty for long time).
probably you have a new car with an "old" engine, please share engine number so we can compare.
in colombia there are some 2015 models with 70 serie engine, mine is 2014 and has 77 serie lol.
the engine number is on the engine itself, not on that plate.
i will post a picture tomorrow showing number location, it starts with "hr16*6 numbers and 1 letter"
i think rob or anonymus car manufacturing date was similar to yours.
but as i said before, i have seen new vin numbers with very old engine numbers, so important thing is engine number not vin number.
until now i havent hears any fault on 88 serie engine, yes on 87 and 85.
