... at least they are listed on nissan.ca.
The price of the S remains unchanged, the SV has gone up at least $140, and the SR has increased by at least $1,200.00.
I haven't looked at the changes (if any) that have been made.

about time...looks like you can upgrade on the sv with mags and spoiler $400

Yup. Looks like the SR wheel, only 15" instead of 16" and minus the dark paint. We've seen this wheel on some of the Mexican & southern cars, I think.
Interesting: "Style Package (AT only)"
Interestingly: I don't see a rear view monitor on the dash. I thought all 2018 cars had to have them:

Oh wow: you can't get the SR with a manual transmission any more! (brochure)
All cars manufactured from May 1st. will require rearview camera. Having said that, hoping to see the upgraded radio unit in all models...we'll see. Looks like Nissan is still using old brochures IMO.
Added the new brochures to the site:

They sure took their sweet time announcing the '18s!
Par for the course. It's been the pattern every year.
As for WHY? No idea.
Except one possible reason: they want to sell the surplus of 2017's before being forced to sell them at a discount when the 2018's arrive.
USB Connect through the SR version only. I wish they would have done it for 2018 SV
why is the new Micra design not available in America? I wonder when they will be changed as they are being redesigned in Europe?
When are we going to have this new Micra available?
https://www.nissan-cdn.net/content/d...%202017.07.pdf
Not until 2021 at least as best as I can tell.
By America, do you mean the U.S., or North America as a whole?
If US: the Versa sedan -- the cheapest new car in the U.S. -- already occupies the best-selling spot in the entry-level subcompact segment. No need to cannibalize sales with the Micra. Also, Americans supposedly vastly prefer sedans over hatchbacks.
yeah maybe but it's so much more advance than the Micra we have. Just the interior is like day and night. And look at all the features and technology they put into it. Nothing of it is available in our Micra and that suck big time! Look at the sleak interior, Intelligent mobility driving aid, a MUCH better rear camera, GPS, INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE WARNING AND PREVENTION, BLIND SPOT WARNING, etc...etc..ad nauseum. Nissan Canada suck! All they talk about on Nissan Canada is air bags and safery belt, nothing about those REALLY useful features and technologies we SHOULD have because people here drive like nuts. So I will not be replacing my car until they do provide some real improvement, but that's me. I do like my car but I feel like I am driving a old piece of technology already obsolete.
Ok one featuer I do NOT want, lol!
TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION. Stick to the latest speed limits thanks to automatic road sign detection as you go.
I think they'd see a sales bump with the new design. It looks GREAT! But on the flip side, it means it will be well tested and have the kinks worked out before we see it. Plus, they will probably modify it for Canada like the K13 was. At least it means if you get one this year, you won't see it replaced before a 3 year lease is almost up.
Personally, I don't really want all that techno-driver-assist crap in my car. I think they're excuses for drivers to get lazy and stop paying attention. Of all of it, I think the emergency braking is at least useful. Blind spots literally don't exist in normal driving if you know how to adjust your mirrors (which most people don't). Meh. Keep it simple. Let drivers drive. God knows what those systems will cost to repair when they fail. But, to each their own.
Least useful for ME, but I wish all the texting tailgaiters had it. :)
I used to teach defensive driving, a big part of which is rear crash avoidance. My cousin and step-nephew have both been rear-ended, with major damage. Both completely avoidable if they'd been paying attention to following traffic. I've only avoided one rear crash in my life, but I'm glad watching mirrors is a habit - it was a transport truck that would have hit me!
While I'd love to see the refresh here, the market isn't big enough, the U.S. already isn't getting it so it has to go through so much testing and regulation just to hit Canadian shores when the K13 is still selling really well.
Canada also gets some cultural trickle up from the U.S. in terms of vehicle style and sales. We get lumped in with them for a lot of regional marketing and sales plans. Hatches are starting to do a lot better in Canada and in North America overall but we are still way behind the rest of the modern world. Europe and Japan (and even Australia) are already far ahead of us in terms of practical and efficient vehicles, emission regulations, population density problems and solutions.
Hot hatches and hatches in general in Europe are a HUGE market, Nissan needs the K14 there just to stay relevant.
The Euro design would price the Micra to high for NA market. In a declining market for sedans the money is better spent, like Nissan is, and everyone else, on SUV's. It to bad they are not evolving this car a bit. Do some improvements like a better, lighter, stiffer unibody. But again they will price it to high. It sells, they make $$, Nissan will leave it for a while. Just like Toyota did for 15 years. Okay they tweaked the body, not much else. I, quite frankly, would not buy any other Nissan in the stables of Nissan. Drive on!!!
It will be interesting to see what happens with the Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi merger. I have seen a few articles that suggest the K14 platform will be the basis for the A/B-segment cars from all 3 companies.
That would mean North American compliance for the K14 platform, if the plan is to use it to underpin the next gen Mirage (due to arrive in a year or 2). IF that happens, I imagine we would get the K14 Micra at the same time.
That would be amazing. Although, they went through the trouble of a K13 Canadian release and didn't add many Canadian-esque features..
I'd be plenty happy if they just offered a better transmission option and e-4wd OR e-Power to either the K13 or the Note.
In a perfect world we'd get an e-Power Micra/Note with e-4wd addon. I'd gladly compromise and switch to an automatic transmission for my daily if it meant a practical EV I didn't have to worry about charging constantly and switchable 4wd for winters up here (I'd gladly pay $1200 extra for e-4wd).
I know that's a bit of a pipe dream but the technology is there, it's proven and it's relatively cheap...
EDIT
Example of a decent options as compared to offerings in Japan:
1.5-1.6L + e4WD (CVT only)
1.2L inline 3 e-Power CVT only (optional e4WD?? :) )
The Note with e-Power is confirmed for the States. Not sure about Canada, though.
And no mention of e-awd. :)
Thread: Micra engine + Leaf drivetrain + Versa Note = new Nissan hybrid
I disagree, I do NOT like the look of the new micra. LOVE the k13 design and will be very sad when mine bites the dust in 6 years or so. Unfortunately do not see myself purchasing the new k14 design in the future, just looks too much like the chevy sonic IMO.
If it's any consolation, rumour has it the Sonic is done for in North America in the next year or two anyway. :D
Yuuuuup.
They already have the Kicks and Versa Note using the same powertrain. At this point the Micra is probably just a strain on the assembly line. Whenever the numbers drop or the Kicks starts selling more, they'll probably drop the Micra entirely. Although, sales in Mexico I'd bet are a contributing factor as well.
Wow, back in the day we use to do something called "shoulder check" when changing lanes and "turn your head to look behind" when backing up. We also drove much more longer cars with massive trunks and even less rearward visibility than most trucks on the road today...are people just not checking & backing up slowly anymore?
