That happened in the Ford line:

They've cancelled the Fiesta subcompact hatchback, and now Ford's entry level vehicle is the "EcoSport" CUV/crossover.

The base EcoSport is many thousands of $$$ more expensive than the base Fiesta was.

Ford has cancelled all its cars except for the Mustang.

Saw my 3rd Kicks in the wild this morning, going down my street.
