Bolt hole in brakes
My husband is going to take a look at my 2017 Micra's Brakes. He was wondering if there was a bolt hole in the rotors that would assist in removing the rotors if they were stuck. If yes, what is the size. Also, is there a similar bolt hole for the rear drums. He said that the holes were quite helpful in removing the rotors and drums on the old Suzuki’s we had.
Thanks!

There are no bolt holes up front, unfortunately. At least not on the rotors that are on my car. When it comes time to do my brakes, I know that one rotor will need to be broken loose by driving a bolt in through the brake caliper bracket.
I recall not having the holes on the back brakes either when I had to replace a wheel stud.

Thanks for the response! Do you happen to know the size of that bolt that goes in thru the brake caliper bracket? Hubby would like pick one up just in case.

You cant drive bolt through carrier bolt hole to take rotors out thats IMPOSSIBLE on micra. Procedure is super easy as i did many vrake jobs and on my own micra too few times to change rotors and pads.
Support rear wheels put handbrake on put transmission to neutral open drivers window and leave it like that.
Close the door for that ping ping sound bot to drive u crazy
Jack up the car and put stand
Make sure wheels are facing steaight forward
Take wheel out
Start the car and turn wheel to the side where u are doing brake job
Unscrew 2 14mm bolts and slide caliper out
Take pads out
Take 2 17mm bolts out from carrier
Take whole carrier out and do your thing(lubricating cleaning etc)
Take any penetrating oil and start spraying to studs and hub side while turning rotor by hand(car is in neutral so its turnable)
Let it soak for 10-15 min
Take a hammer 8oz or 16oz and start hammering lightly from inside out of the rotor. There is one spot that u can hammer btw. Turn the rotor by hand and hammer till the rotor will brake loose
Then assemble everything back.
For info: carrier bolt torque 85nm, slider pin bolts 27nm
Happy brake job.

This is the method I'm probably going to have to use. I have no idea what bolt size to grab yet. However, hopefully yours won't be as rusted on as mine are.

That method you cant use on micra!

It's been a while since I had it apart. Do the holes not line up?
-
Right they dont line up. So the only method is hammer+wd40(before hammering)

Ugh. I'm going to need a bigger hammer.
