The pic is a base, 5-speed Micra S that Nissan loaned me to test drive. I would happily own one. And I'm not alone: the base S was until very recently the most popular car in our garage. Yet one auto journalist saw it fit to insult the taste/enthusiasm of base Micra owners.

Using a block heater is a great way to save fuel, reduce wear and get cabin heat sooner without resorting to idling. But don't forget to unplug it!
