Is replacing the front pads and rotors straight forward job? Or is there any special tools or such required to do it at home?

I don't believe the Micra's front brakes would be any different from your typical disc brakes on a car.
ChrisFix on Youtube is one of my favourite channels, and he has a lot of repair videos where he tries to use common hand tools instead of anything special. Here is his video on replacing pads and rotors on his Mustang:

It is very easy and very straight forward plus there are plenty of youtube vids that show a versa brake job which are the same as is the front brakes on the juke.
Hi There, I finally got around to installing my new Endless Super Street Y-sports brake pads. I imported these from RHDJapan https://www.rhdjapan.com/endless-bra...3-k13-kai.html. I happened to order my RS*R Down kit from them as well and the brake pads alone in the order were about $106 Canadian + shipping and customs.

1. Chalk your back wheels
2. Break the torque on the front lug nuts
3. Jack-up the car from the center sub frame
4. Put jack stands at the jacking points (in your manual)
5. take off the wheels
Attachment 5353
6. Put a 14mm socket on your breaker bar and loosen the lower caliper pin
Attachment 5354
7. Save the bolt (how cute and tiny), what no locktite?
Attachment 5355
8. Flip up the caliper carefully, and pull out the two little wire things (not sure what they're called)
Attachment 5356
9. Carefully pry out your old brake pads with a flat head screw driver
Attachment 5357
continued...
10. remove the shims, clean with brake cleaner, put some anti-sieze on the inside of the shim
Attachment 5358
11. You will notice the inside brake pad will have 2 little tabs on it, put the shim back on
Attachment 5359
12. Compress the caliper valve with a caliper compress tool and one of the old brake pads
Attachment 5360
13. Install the inside brake pad (notice I actually put Permatex Lubircant on the little rubber caliper pin boots to hydrate that's the red stuff on them)
Attachment 5361
14. Install the outside brake pad
Attachment 5362
15. Close the caliper (but before you do put the little wire thingies back on ... I forgot to and had to remove it and put them back on after) put the bolt back on and torque to 20 ft-lbs
Attachment 5363
16. Now you can put on the Endless decals (just like in Freeway Speedway 2)

So now is about the time you want to burnish your brake pads. So you're going to have to find a good stretch of road where you won't cause an accident where you can speed up to about 50 km/h then brake medium pressure (not all the way or complete stop). Do this about 20 times, then let your brakes cool down for at least 15 minutes. You'll find plenty of stuff on the web about burnishing brake pads.
I hope you enjoyed this one :)
i know this isn't exactly recommended, but i take a large flat file and file off the edge/lip (if any)that may have happened on the rotor and try and make the rotor as flat as possible with the file, i dont really remove much material to be honest, then i take a piece of emery cloth and skuff both sides to break any glaze.
good pictures!!
I'd like to report following a few days of driving on my new brake pads and doing 1morelap at Calabogie Motorsports Park that the breaks are terrific! Yes, they definitely have a much stronger bite than the stock pads. They work great on the street but hold-up for the occasional track day. No noise and no dust.
Did your RS*R down kit come in yet. Looking forward to seeing pics when its done. Should make your car look great.
VE3BRJ - thanks for the pics and DIY write-up!
