Side mirror shakes (replaced both sides under warranty)

Send them an email confirming the situation and let them know a copy has been sent to your lawyer in the event of an accident due to their negligence. I believe this should get the results desired. A copy to Transport Canada as well ...

Did you tell them numerous other owners have had their mirrors replaced for the same problem?

Anybody checked on the Versa forums to see how many people there are reporting it? Possibly the same part.

Mine will be going into Midway Nissan in Whitby for a replacement of the mirror glass and motorized components. Hopefully this solves it as it is shaking to the point it is useless and dangerous. I will keep an eye on it as you have had it replaced a few times, and warranty is up in March for me.

Did you discover anything after you took it apart that could be the cause or a solution?

I have found a solution to this mirror shaking issue. The shaking is not the mirror motor rather the folding mechanism has some gap. I stuffed some thin pieces of foam in between the gaps and I'm happy that 95% of the shaking has been stopped.Attachment 5688Attachment 5689

That seems like a logical deduction and solution...i possible have never gone fast enough to experience this phenomenon

I already tried putting some padding between the mirror and the mirror cover and it made no difference with the shaking. It would make sense the vibration is coming from somewhere else.

My driver side mirror shakes when the AC is on and the car is stopped and on drive. Also shakes a little when driving, but not as bad as when stopped. Passenger side mirror is solid and crystal clear at all times.

I also found that folding the mirror cover out just a little bit more gets rid of the shaking temporarily as jgoedhard says.

That certainly points to the hinge possibly being the problem.

I am having my drivers side mirror serviced by the dealer this morning due to excessive shaking (it basically shook at any speed). I believe the issue stems from where/how the actually mirror/glass attaches as opposed to it being the housing itself. I also think the mirror is more prone to shaking on the drivers side because it’s the door that is more prominently opened and closed and the impact of closing the door is obviously too much for the construction of the assembly.

I don't believe the issue is the housing, but I will report back - I’m curious if the parts they are going to replace are revised to correct the issue or if it will simply come back again.
