Nissan Canada says: current Micra will continue to be sold; not the new K14 version

This is not new news. Nissan Canada has pretty much said the same thing last year.

But The Truth About Cars posted a quote from Nissan Canada’s director of corporate communications that will dash the hopes of anybody awaiting the arrival of the new 5th generation K14 Micra in the Great White North:

I'm fine with that.
Beta test it international. Then we get the updated version with 4 years of r&d for updates and aftermarket parts then give it a modern face lift and the top of the line engine as a base model. The sounds great.

Thats good news the Mexico plants is coninuing, after the thailand factory stopped.

I like both. Still better then some other vehicles. *Cough* Mitsubishi Mirage.

Honestly the Mirage is the only other car in the category I would have considered after the Micra but I was looking at Kei cars prior to deciding on the Micra.

I think the cute K13 Micra looks better overall for the size and type of car it is (the back of the k14 is Juke-y bleh). I also think it will age better. However, the interior finish on the k14 is SO much nicer for the price. I want that steering wheel pretty bad.

Styling trend is definitely towards Angry these days.

The continuation of the current model Micra suits me fine. I have seen photos of the new model and do not care for the shrinking rear windows which make the car look like many other up to the minute designs with poor rear visibility.

That is bizarre...

you can get a longer one that is obviously better....

its some sort of giant pin that skewers the gearshift in the console to prevent theft, good at bbqs too!

Odd. Obviously there must also be some way to lock it in place once you stab the linkage :D
