I just use the aux in port with my cell phone.

I had some kicking around.
Thanks for the chuckle. I think I have a stack around here somewhere too. :D
I'm rocking a rotation of MP3 CDs right now while I wait to find the perfect double din deck.
I have a cellphone mount and aux cable but I honestly find the quality pretty hard to handle and avoid using it at all costs. Bluetooth even sounds better than aux (as much as I hate to admit it).
Stereo audio from crappy DACs in standard cellphones was just not meant to be EQ'd to 4+ speakers.
The boost setting on the factory deck for AUX input is a must, I think I have mine set to 2.
Why would iTunes be defaulting to .WAV? Are you using iTunes on Windows? Performance for iTunes on Windows is pretty terrible IMHO but it has the ability to convert between file types natively. You should be able to convert what you have downloaded in your library to .mp3, mpeg-4 or .m4a. Conversely, Windows Media player has the same conversion features built in so you could use that as well to convert and burn mp3 CDs (if you are indeed on Windows).
