lower sales than a Mirage! its a shame. I don't see Nissan advertising the Micra? To bad they didn't call it the Marsh
-
I wonder how many sales the new Kicks took away from Micra. Same engine (almost), modified Micra/Versa platform. Kicks sold 4362 last year, 1000 less than Micra. And it wasn't even a full year of sales for the Kicks.

January 2019
Micra sales continue to drop: only 294 (vs. 370 last Jan.)
Overall, Nissan Canada declined as well: - 10% vs. last Jan.

March sales
A nice jump in Micra sales last month, to 582.
That's the first month of sales over 500 since last June.
March is usually an above average month for sales... I guess people come out of the woodwork when the weather starts to warm up!
Overall sales for Nissan were down 1.4% from a year ago. Canadian auto sales in general have been declining.

April 2019 sales
556 Micras found homes last month.
That's down 6% vs. April of last year. Nissan overall was down 5% vs. last April.
We're starting to get a picture about where some of the Micra's sales are going:
- 3900 Kicks sold so far in 2019, vs...
- 1749 Micras sold

Good May numbers
Micra sales were actually UP for the first time, year-over-year! That hasn't happened for a while.
815 delivered in May. (Vs. 741 a year ago.)
Believe it or not, that was enough to make it the best-selling car in Nissan's line-up.
For Nissan overall, sales hit a new record for the month of May. Of course, the crossovers/SUV's/trucks are where the action is, with sales up 17% vs. last May, while car sales were down 33%.

June = 2nd good month!
711 Micras found homes in June, making it 2 months in a row that sales are up compared to the same month last year. (590 last June.)
Unfortunately, overall sales for Nissan are down -6% for 2019 vs. the same period last year.

Shockingly, sales of the Chevy Spark are on a tear. GM is only reporting quarterly sales now, but the littlest Chevrolet outsold the Micra from April-June.
I wonder if it was a big fleet sale. I hardly see new Sparks around, but I see Micras all the time now in my little city.

One of those were mine! Glad I was able to contribute lol.
With Ford and GM discontinuing most of the car fleet I wonder if the "domestic" die hards are migrating to what's left.

I wonder the same thing. It may be a shrinking pie, but there are fewer slices for people to choose from who want an affordable economy car.
