It's that time again. Today routed the block heater cord to the right lower grille as I could take one section of the condenser coil protection out and not expose any sensitive bits.

I zip tied the cap to the grille so it is easy to tuck in, but it won't get away from me.

I like it.. How hard do you think it would be to mount it where the recovery bolt goes into do you think?

On another note, how hard would it be to pull the condenser out do you think? The service manual is kind of.. vague.

It'd be the same as how I routed it, but I would not want to open and close that access door frequently in the frigid cold.

Also, I did not really look at the condenser, so I can't help you there.

Exactly the question I was going to ask. But that's a good point about cracking the little door off in the cold. Didn't think of that!

I think I'll just stick to opening the hood and hanging the line out when I need to plug it in. Somehow dismantling the entire front to feed a wire doesn't appeal to me.

You should be able to do this without taking the bumper skin off. I only had to because I had to trim my condenser coil screen I installed this past summer.

Now that I have paid a little more attention to your post and actually looked at where the heater wire is I think I will do this.

Thats a good point. I didnt even think of that. Its probably brittle when cold.

Anybody using a remote for their block heater? I got one of these for my car a couple of winters ago...

It's an indoor/outdoor model with a 1560 watt (resistive) rating - enough for the coolant heater + a small hair dryer running on the medium setting in the cabin. I love a toasty car.

So I would just plug the car in whenever I parked, but only used power about 30-45 minutes before I was going to go out. (My coolant heater is 800w, fairly powerful.)

But I quit using it after I repeatedly found it had switched OFF or ON... without me activating it! It took a while, but I eventually figured out it was my neighbour inadvertantly triggering it with her Honda's remote key fob!

Thanks for the pictures in your posts. My wife recently bought a 2015 Micra and I wouldn't have been able to find the block heater cord without it.
