Red face Brand new Micra SV delivered this week! (Montréal)

    Hi fellow Micra aficionados!

I decided to trade my 2010 Mercedes B200 for a brand new 2015 Micra SV. Was sick of being ripped off by the Merc dealer for any minor maintenance needed on my vehicle (no less than around 350$ for a glorified oil change). And I was getting more and more scared about the Merc CVT transmission, which seems to be far less reliable than Nissan's CVTs. You can find many horror stories about those A and B Class Mercedes CVT transmission, and the cost of the repair is unimaginable. So I decided to opt for La simplicité volontaire!.

So here are the main cool features of my future ride :

5 speed manual tranny (that brings me back quite a few years ago!)
    Metallic blue
    Convenience package with RearView monitor
Black 15 in OEM alloy wheels (my favorite treat...)
    Euro Micra front license plate
    Roof rack and bike rack

Voilà! I already have quite a few cool mod ideas... C'est à suivre!

Will post pictures as soon as I get the car.

    Au plaisir!

    Bienvenue au forum, Papapoil!

You may be interested to know you're not the first member here who traded a Mercedes for a Micra. I think the other was also in Montreal. Let me see if I can find it...

Here it is. Not Montreal, but close (Chambly): http://micra-forum.com/showthread.ph...t-s-that-cheap -- and it was also a 2010 Merc, though an ML in this case.

When you upgrade to the alloy wheels, do you keep your steel wheels for pneus d'hiver? Or does the dealer keep them?

    Darin

    Merci MetroMPG!!!

Wow, trading a ML for a Micra, that's a big step! It seems we have found a pretty cool little car here .

And right on, I will keep the steelies for the winter tires, they will put them in the trunk (I'm getting the Micra thursday evening). Will probably buy them (winter tires) at Pneus Touchette, on Saint-Laurent near Crémazie. They give pretty good advice according to your driving habits, your type or car, etc.

And there is an update! It seems that a blue car was impossible to find anywhere around, so I will find myself with a silver Microbe, which was my second choice. Should be pretty cool with the black alloys...

And, good call CMM, I will try to stay away from the sinkholes (not always easy...)

J'ai bien hâte de mettre des photos

    Cheers!

Funny, I originally wanted a red SV with conv. pkg and there were none to be found so I ended up with the met. blue. Welcome aboard the forum!

And a few driving impressions up to now : the engine is pretty smooth and silent in city driving, but surprisingly torquey, lots of headroom (I'm more than six feet tall), seats are comfortable (another nice surprise in such a budget car, maybe a little Renault touch? Visibility all around is astonishing.

One small deception, the lack of cabin storing spaces (door bins are useless)

Will test drive on the highway this weekend.

    Cheers!

I agree, door storage slot is kind of useless.
