For those of you in the Ottawa area...

I learned from a Nissan rep today that the Micra will be on display at the Ottawa Auto show in a couple of weeks (March 20-23)

That's the closest auto show to me, and I may just take it in to get a look at the Micra in the metal. Show info: http://autoshowottawa.com/

Update: Anybody want me to get any particular photos or info?

looks like it will be a good show. Lots of exhibitors. I think it would benefit us all if you make the trip to check it out and report back.

Yeah - I'm thinking I'll go with camera in hand to get some detailed pics of the car.

    Special requests? Info, pics?

Anybody want me to get any particular info or specific photos of the car?

I haven't picked a day yet, but I'm going to the show.

I'm not sure which Micras will be at the Ottawa show, only that it'll be there. (Toronto had 3 or 4, decked out with various cosmetic options.)

I'd like to see all the shots of the car that the media never shows...

I'd like to see suspension mainly, but also the engine bay, lots of pics! I'd like to know if that injen intake will fit on the Micra. That would probably take some pics around the intake manifold, and between the engine and radiator.

    Will do.

I had planned to get under the car. I want to see those "Canada only" stabilizer bars, for one thing. (I hear they're made out of pressed maple sugar.)

Yeah, I am curious about the sway bars as well. I'm sure some of the international Micra owners will be interested in those as well.

The pressed maple sugar comment got a good chuckle out of me.

I would love to see pics of the car if they have a "special" display car (e.g. body kit, engine mods, etc.). Interior pics would be nice as well, especially cargo options like how the back seats fold and if there is a hole into the trunk, that type of stuff. Engine bay would be nice to see, especially large holes, useful for mods (turbos, supers, intakes, etc.).

Check to see if they have any eco-related stuff like a belly pan.

I also agree with Daox about suspension parts.

In other words, take a pic of EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Seeing one in person, I think I would look for things that were clearly the result of bean-counters winning an argument with the engineers/designers. Look and feel of the interior? Does it feel cheap? Are there things in the car that seem unfinished? Anything that seems to be a shoddy design just for the sake of cutting costs.

This is a car thats primary selling point is its cheap price. A well-built car for a low price is a great value, and that's what we hope this car is. A low-priced car that is a heap is no value at all (think Yugo, early Kias, etc)
