Thread: Micra 1.6 real world fuel economy / mileage reports from owners

  1. #31
I use my dash and figuring out approx fuel used vs distance driven
But ya my scangauge typically reads .3l/100 above the dash.
Im sitting at 8.0l/100km with alot of city driving lately. But got 465km with 3 bars left on dash and about 5.5lt remaining +/- 1-2 based on 34.5 lt fill.

Ah.... I usually wait until I run on fumes. I typically pump in 38-42L. Yeah... funny enough, I was able to pump once 42L. At least the crook at the pump was showing 42L in a 41L tank.

    6.8 manual sv for 1000km i swap the wheels for alloys and tire from 185 60 r15 to 195 65 r15

in the city the bigger taller tire kill the car and économy a bit but on the higways the car geat better milage since the rpm are lower for the same speed

on big hump driving on the highway i do get some rubbing in the rear

  4. #34
The rubbing in the rear comes from the tab used to connect the rear bumper to the rear section of the car.
Solution.. Quick release external connection. http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-Q...P4746C329.aspx

Three thousand km on my Micra stripper and 5.6l/100km. This despite recurring episodes of pushing it fairly hard 'cuz it is such fun

numbers with my 2012 brazilian 5MT Micra 1.6 SV (K13).

Engine is flex fuel, so I run with E90 fuel (fueled my tank with 90% ethanol + 10% gasoline), always in city perimeter, A/C always on; seeking 60 km/h (37 mp/h) @2000 rpm, my "perfect scenario".

Km (miles): 386 km (239,85 miles)
    Fuel: 40 liters of 90% ethanol + 10% gasoline
    Mileage: 9,65 km/l (22,7 mpg [US] or 10,36 L/100km or 27,26 mpg [IMP])

Ethanol is rated around 100 - 110 octane, this fuel boosts most of engines, but mileage is worse compared with gasoline, something like up to 30%-35% worse (or even more). Ethanol is not my favorite fuel, but i run 1 or 2 full tanks of this per year, it´s a little cheaper than gasoline.

Well. Ok. The vapor was pulling into the driveway. The tailwind and the farts were actually the same thing. Bit of jet power ifyaknowhudimean.

Oddly enough. I think I burned more fuel on the way back home but that's likely because the tank seems to indicate full for a long time then races down to just above half then races down to 3 bars for a while then drops like a stone to one bar.

So I pulled into petro canada to fill up at 87 cents today and the fella next to me is pumping gas into his GM Tahoe. When I topped off he is looking over at me and says your car doesn't hold much does it. I said no its really a small tank so fill ups are quick and with these gas prices even cheaper. He asked me what my mileage was and I told him the car is knocking off 52 mpg. Good God he says are you serious. I says yep I'm on tank 10 since I bought it in March and its been doing 52 mpg every fill up. He says wow I wish I could get that on this thing. As I got into the car I replied that would be nice wouldn't it, well I'm off see you here is 5 weeks. I didn't hear his response because I had closed the door.
