Ha! I wondered if that's what was going on. C'etait la faute de Google!

Sure, c'a peut être une bonne idée. Si certain membres sont plus a l'aise en français, pourquoi pas?

In my opinion.... meh. I doubt I'd use the french forum, it think i'd prefer having all the info centralized in one language than a mess in two.
Je pense que de créer une section distincte du forum en français risque de causer de la confusion et des dédoublements de sujets. Cela dit, peut-être que les membres francophones qui veulent créer des sujets en français pourraient se sentir libre de le faire, ça éviterait les répétitions et les francophones se sentiraient à l'aise, et les membres anglophones qui peuvent lire en français pourraient contribuer à ces sujets en répondant en anglais sans problème, tout le monde se comprendrait

I have noticed that's the way it works in one Montreal-based car forum that I have visited: individual posts in discussions happen in whichever language the member is comfortable, and often in a bit of both.
Pour les gens qui sont moins bilingues, je pense que je vais chercher un petit solution: ajouter un link a Google Translate sur le forum, pour acces rapide.
I'm thinking that as a small help for members/visitors who aren't bilingual, I'll add a hard link to Google Translate on the forum. Maybe a link/button that will translate individual posts.
Even if it's imperfect translation, it helps.

Sounds perfect to me!
I have a built in translator, my girlfriend is bilingual after 4 years in northern NB.
Both my daughters who still live at home are in French immersion schools they could help me out with most of it I'm sure...until they get tired of me bugging them for help anyways.
