[QUOTE=geodude;18423]^^ After careful research you bought a filter that doesn't fit? Lol

It fit perfectly....too perfectly....also I didnt want to spend over 3 dollars....luckily it fits the 2015 honda fit I have too lol

    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

I'm thinking Nissan owes us that filter.
In the brochure for the micra 2016, they removed it...

Today I asked my dealership about it and they said there is NO spot to put a filter. Then a different guy said only the Sport version (SR) has it. It doesn't add up. I wrongly thought I needed to remove the glove-box to check it out but thanks to this forum know the proper way and will check this weekend.

Nissan is really cutting corners on this. I understand it being a low budget car but still feels wrong to me.

You don't need to remove the glovebox to get to the filter. Just unclip and remove the plastic cover that can be found underneath the glovebox towards the firewall of of the car.
Thanks, I just saw other people mentioning it earlier, I'll look into it this weekend.

Just to be clear, the only reason I removed my glove box was to see where I could add a light to illuminate the glove box, which was a project I never followed through on.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

The cabin filter for are Micra is not available from nissan , but you can install a Fram part# CF 10709 or a champion # caf1820p. Actaully the inside dimension are 8 "3/4 x 8 ". You have to compess it to fit it threw the 5 " opening . Here is a picture of inside the box. Hope this help.Attachment 883
I confirm that the Fram Fresh Breeze CF 10709 works well. You need to twist it a fair amount to get it in the spot but once inside it's the right size. I got it on walmart website and it was 26.97$ + taxes.

Overall satisfied and I can tell Nissan to suck it next time if they tell me I should replace it. Thank you Jimicra68 for the info!!

thx for the heads up, mate.

just to clarify...did you have to remove anything or unscrew anything to get that filter in there? or is that rectangular opening just gaping open like in the photos?

i havent carefully looked at mine yet so i dont know.

    thx!

No screw to remove, just the little clip thing under the glove box on the side. This video shows perfectly how it is, so I think the cabin filter system is the same as the Versa Note.
