That was the problem. Going through the trouble and expense of importing one defeated the entire spirit of Micra ownership. The other issue was the expense in getting proper parts. It was hard enough to find parts for my K10 Micra; towards the end of the 90's, my local dealership had to import everything I needed to keep it running (except for oil filters and spark plugs).
In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.
