    I have no clue, I just found it on the web! I would assume you're correct; probably a owner parking lot or we'd see a meter for payment on the things!

    The gov't needs to spend more time kicking car makers asses over recalls, safety problems, not issuing advice on block heaters.

    2017 = "accessory"

    I added a note to the first post: block heater is listed as an "accessory" for the 2017 model year, unlike earlier years where it was standard equipment.

    Cost cutting?

    dealer told me it didn't come with it anymore, I believe he said something like you'd need an aftermarket one.
    So I got the heated seat and auto starter, shouldn't be a problem in my area.

    I believe you are right. Cost cutting/profit generating. Funny, when I got my car, everything on the lot had a block heater. Then again, other companies charge for it. All cars and trucks in Canada should come with them by default. It's cold here in the winter.
