    oil leak fixed.
aparently nissan is not only making wrong size rod bearings.
the crankshaft oil seal was also wrong sized LOL.
now until my new car arrives will check oil consumption and all that stuff, performance after 100km is almost the same as before, engine feels very smooth and quiet, almost like another car, you dont realize how louder the faulty engine is until the knock is gone.
tech requested me to go to highway and push the car hard and give them a feedback, if i have some time next week will do that.
my friend reinaldo from colombia is still being told the knock is normal, he also called to a nissan dealer in bogota where we know 1 engine was repaired there, and by the phone he was told they never opened an hr16de, but another member of forum has a friend that works there and told us they have overhauled 2 recently, and a lot of people is complaining every day about this.
he is now negotiating with consumer protection to force the dealer to open the engine.
i think dealers dont want to do the job because nissan pays miseries the labour hour for warranty jobs (this is a common policy among car makers), here the dealer was paid 8 american dollars per hour, they told me they loose money with the repair done on my car.

Gonzagnr, it is pretty cool that the people who repaired your car took the time to get the right parts. Too bad about oil leak though. Here is a web site that I came across a while back that you may find entertaining & educational too:

I am still waiting for the report. There has not been any contact at all. No credit card charge, no email.

Also, my car is at the dealer to get the front struts replaced. They were making a squeak/pop/rattle in cold weather. I ended up getting a Sentra CVT as a loaner car and you can hear a knock noise while accelerating, but only when the engine is cold. When the engine warms up there is no knock sound but there is a clear metallic rattle when revs are held steady in the 2000-3000 rpm range.

probably piston slap if only in cold.
on my engine i think i am starting to hear the valve guide noise problem.
i hope it doesnt get much louder until may so i can have trade it in without needing to have the cilynder head replaced, which means again more days at the dealer.

Here is the report. As you can see, wear numbers are very low. Whatever the noise is, it does not cause damage to the engine.

Thanks for sharing this resource and report. Nice to know if you genuinely think you might have a problem you can have the oil tested. What was the all in cost again?
