Installed jbl 2way speakers in the back and surprisingly good monoprice 3ways in the front. Had to fabricate risers all around, but it was a fun project. Sounds gooood. Big 9" sub in an oversize box in the trunk on a clarion amp. Photos of that laterName: 20150815_144932.jpg

Next I have to replace my ancient 1din Kenwood head unit with a 2din nav. I was thinking one of those eBay Android things... Has anyone heard one?

Also I got an adapter for the power antenna but it has terrible reception. I wonder if it's something wrong with the installation or if the stock radio just really has magically good reception?

    Gussy. Here's what I used.

Scosche NN04B for the power and speaker harness.
    Scosche NAA2B for the antenna.
Note that you can get those from Metra as well as the (70-7552 and 40-NI12)

Behind your radio (Most probably a Clarion PP-3442C if it's the base model) you will have 3 connectors. The smallest besides the radio, if optional and will have steering wheel controls. That's not to be used with those harnesses above. You will need a steering wheel kit for that, separate.

    Nichol,

Did you ground the antenna? If notice, Scosche has 2 extra grounds, 1 on the speaker/power harness and one on the antenna. I screwed that in the tube in the back (the one that looks like from a roll cage). That grounded fine. No more hiss.

    My 2 cents.

    Hey guys!

Seriously thinking of getting a Micra SV 2016. Sadly on this one, the factory stereo doesn't have a usb capability. To get it, I'd need the SR which is more expensive and I don't need the more sporty features. I currently have a 2010 Versa on which I changed the stereo when I got it but it feels that eversince i did, the dash rattles in cold weather, but maybe it's just a Versa thing. Anybody had problems with rattles and weird noises in the dash after changing the stereo?

Also, anybody was able to just add a usb plug to the factory stereo? I heard there are sometimes adapters that can be plugged on the back of the stereo, but I asked two car radio shops and they told me it doesn't exist for micras..

Any advice would be welcome! Ideally I'd be able to listen to music in my micra from a flash drive without too much hassle or a fm transmitter...!

I think you need to look up an adapter harness for the versa.

It's not a versa thing. Mine rattles in 15 oC temperatures or less and it not just the dash. You can even hear ice quakes from outside.

The radio should have a AUX/line in built in.

When I was getting my 2015 Micra SV I had the option to get the reverse camera / USB stereo for an extra 500 which I kind of regret not getting. The car is so small I leave enough room to park another micra behind mine

The 2016 Versa I drove had a stereo that played music via bluetooth and auto responded "Driver Busy" text msg's but I'm not quite sure they are the same.

I do know the 2015 Micra doesn't not do those functions on the USB stereos nor regular stereos

Are you saying Versa and Micra use the same stereo? Not sure I get what you mean.
