    Air Conditioning Service

I have to take my car in for a repair to the hatch fabric because a rodent got in and chewed through quite a bit of it. Covered by comprehensive insurance except for my $300 deductible.

While there, I think I am thinking of having an airconditioning service. My car is almost 10 years old and has never had this done, and I am going to keep it forever so I think this should be done.

Have other people done this on a regular basis? I am not having any real problems with it, maybe not as cold as when I got it but cool enough.... Just wondering if it is worth the money?

i dont know that much about A/C because i dont have it, but if it blows cold there isnt much to "service", if it doesnt blow cold, the refrigerant may have leaked out, they need to fix the leak if its a big one i assume. to be honest new cars A/C doesn't seem as good as the 1997 prelude i just sold that NEVER had the a/c touched. my advice would be DON'T ask them to "service" it. get the oil changed, auto fluid changed, brake fluid changed, spark plugs changed, alt belt chnged, coolant changed, but usally people dont replace the a/c "fluid" unless its leaked out
    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

Last year I had my condenser replaced, but only because it leaked out all the freon, or whatever they use these days. Agree with MrMarch, If your not having any issues with it, there really isn't much to service. If you trust your mechanic there might be some value in having the condenser visually checked, but that's about all I can think of.

LMAO. That's interesting. I swear I typed MrMicra. I wonder if it auto corrected to MrMarch, or if I did it subconsciously. Either way I meant MrMicra lol
