Well, it's 2018 and there's no mention of the 2018 Micra yet on Nissan's corporate or sales web site.

Has anybody seen anything about it?

The only change we know for sure is it'll come with a back-up camera, standard:

Thread: Back-up cameras mandatory on all new cars for 2018, says Transport Canada

[From thread: 2017 Nissan Micra K14 official photos, video - production version revealed ]

Will we get the redesigned Micra that's currently available in the eastern hemisphere?

Nope! Not in 2018... or 2019... or 2020. Nissan has announced the continuation of the Micra Cup series for 3 more years with the current platform:

Thread: Coupe Micra Cup confirmed for 3 more years, through 2020

there arent any door handles for the back doors.....probably a 1500$ dollar option.....

lets hope its 9,999$...i remeber reading somewhere the only reason the micra was North america crash test ready was it was suppose to be the new smart car, so they paid for all the crash testing..hence 9,999...kinda maybe

    2015 Micra S (manual)
    no A/C /no power options/ block heater/4x 2 Ohm speakers...all factory stock in 2015
    Feb 2015 build
    9,999 purchase price + tax..no additional 1600$ because it was a 2015 purchased in 2016
so receipt says $8,399....+1600 .... so they look good i guess...for a brand new car!

This is a bit weird. When I worked in the industry if a model wasn't in the brochure it was toast. EOL. It's that simple. I can't see Nissan killing off the Micra unless they think that potential customers will turn to the Mirage for that "$9999" car.

It's a gamble I don't think corporate would take. But competing the Micra and Mirage head to head doesn't make sense either.

This is interesting. I bought my 2017 Micra new mid November 2017. I got it at zero percent financing. The other cars at the dealership all had 2018 models, but curiously not the Micra. I thought that perhaps they were in the process of phasing the car out at the time. I hope that this isn't the case; as you people all know, the car is a joy to drive and a joy to own. I love it. I actually traded a Lexus for it!

When I bought my 17' in June 2017, the lot didn't have really any other Micra's. They were all automatics and no SR's that I recall.
