What's in your hatch? For the winter.

    Hey everyone.

Since that winter is here for most of us(not fully for me). I figured that I would post the winter gear that I have in the back of my Micra. Also getting some ideas of what other members have as well.

So what's in your hatch? For winter.

    - 9.73 Jug of washer fluid - Booster Pack - 12V compressor - Full first aid kit - Jumper Cables - 2 Instant Ice Packs
    - Maglight Flashlight - Fire extinguisher - Full socket set - Extension cord - 3 Pylons - Set of road flares(battery operated)
    - Set of batteries - Battery terminal cleaner - Zip ties - Duct Tape - Fuses - Gloves - Extra touqe - blanket

I used to own a truck and that's why I have a hitch shackle, tow rope as well. I am going to be adding spare clothes, hand and feet warmers, tire plug kit.

I know for some they are going to think, say that this is excessive. For anyone who's travelled over the mountains in the snow, dark, alone in the early mornings you can never be over prepared. Not too long ago we didn't have cell phone service in places.

forget winter, my car ALWAYS has:

    - a heavy duty car jumper from Anker (love this brand) which of course can double as flash light + spare battery tank.

    - a half used container of motor oil. yes, i know the thing is two years old, but it's used as last resort, ya never know.

    - fire extinguisher

    - snow scraper thing

    - orange cone + foldable orange triangle.

    - spare jacket

    - spare umbrella

    - a small collection of nuts/bolts and levers for the tire use.

    - 12v compressor

now if only i could make my dash cam work again.....cheap chinese G1W....

I have spare washer fluid, window brush/scraper, some granola bars and other little foods. No water, it would freeze. I do carry extra batteries and my head lamp. A can with holes and a candle. A fire flint (more reliable than matches). I have a sleeping bag as well. And I usually have dog stuff too as my dog is often with me.

This is something I haven't really considered. I have a bottle of windshield washer fluid and that's about it. Oh, and I have gloves as well. But the rest.... and I live in a climate where it was 40 below last week as well!

Some great ideas here; I'm going to add a few more things to my winter kit. One new thing that I suggest is a folding shovel (military trenching tool). I suggest that you buy one from a brick and mortar store and NOT online; many that are offered are small, flimsy, and not useable.
