    2" Kakimoto stainless Steel Exhaust

I thought I'd share for this coming summer season some new upgrades for my K13, after careful research I was able to get a hold of Kakimoto's (7spirits) GTbox 06&S series cat-back exhaust spec'd for the Nismo S March in Japan. An amazing off the shelf upgrade for those who seek quality in their exhaust system. Kakimoto is no newcomer in the industry and those who know can attest to the quality of a tuned cat-back exhaust.

I'll showcase the brief installation, which can help many K13 fans visualise certain things that I couldn't find since even in Japan there are only a handful of people who revealed whether or not a Nismo S spec'd exhaust system can fit bolt-on to a non Nismo S trim. The Canadian market Micra K13 comes with an HR16DE so this upgrade is actually spec'd for the HR15DE, these engines vary displacement by 0.1L so pretty much the same.

The installation is easy enough for anybody with a general sense of mechanics, preferably with a hand or two. Getting my car on the lift, the picture bellow shows the original cat-back exhaust which is a 1"⌀ line made of steel.

What some people might not know is that the actual catalytic converter is a 2” system, the downpipe behind it is also a 2” system, so fitting the new resonator pipe requires the use of a conical shaped exhaust gasket, this is provided stock.

After carefully removing the stock bolts w/ compression springs, the entire stock exhaust is left hanging with rubber hangers. the image bellow is a comparison of the stock resonator vs the upgrade one from kakimoto. Quite a difference in size and length.

Here's a picture showcasing the entire line vs the stock line.

Since the axle-back of the GTbox 06&S series differs greatly from the stock traditional end, the requirement of a special extra hanger is needed to be installed. Thankfully this isn't custom job and Kakimoto provides the kit at no extra charge with an OEM rubber hanger. The instructions clearly reveal where to install it on the stock frame (no drilling required).

Now it's a simple matter of putting all the hangers on the appropriate hanger rods and bolt everything together.

The entire line looks amazing and sounds great while quality is uncompromised.

Here's a sound clip in the streets, quite an enjoyable tone, with minimum db on idle and top db's hit above 2000rpm and higher, 96 db @6000rpm. The exhaust system burbles when passing 1500rpm and leaving the rpms drop which gives such a pleasing sound to the ear.

Very nice tone, any pics of the rear view of the exhaust to see how it sits with the stock cut out?

I've re-uploaded the pictures in the thread. Here's a picture with the tip sitting with the stock cut out, took it with my cell.

I paid about $1,200 including freight, this price varies, depending where and how you end up sourcing it.
