After watching numerous videos on the Micra Cup series and listening to the great exhaust tone of our little race car, does anyone know what muffler they are using in the series, and is it a cat back or just aftermarket muffler.

They use a custom downpipe and cat-back exhaust set at 2" dia all around. Their muffler is an american aftermarket brand from Cortek, while the media boast about them using "Nismo" exhaust. They do not, and their custom model works, but the price isn't a given. I wouldn't personally buy it, I rather stick to JDM aftermarket manufactures who specialise on this topic longer than MIA's existence. Such as Fujitsubo or Kakimoto.

Actually the entire cat back (everything you see in those two pictures) is manufactured by Cortek and we are a canadian brand made in house in Montreal!! IT is obviously your perogative to buy from whoever you choose, but we have been in the exhaust game for over 10 years, starting with high end custom exhausts, which then led into our Rawtek TDI DPF delete line of products. The same high quality materials and craftsmanship is brought to the Micra exhaust. And as always, Cortek Mufflers are a cut above the rest. Using 304SS, the best packing material you can get (For street mufflers, the Cup exhausts have only SS whool wrap for the extended high temp beatings they take) you can be certain of the quality.
I recently posted in the introduction thread, but I'll post here, as it is much better.
I am Operations Manager at Rawtek Performance Fabrication and Cortek Mufflers. We just started production of a run for Motorsports in Action for the 2017 Micra Cup season.
We would like to make the exhausts available for the general public, so would like to know if there are people interested in getting together a group buy to get a deal on them?

Nice sales pitch, and good to see local manufacturing push themselves for quality, but I rather buy an exhaust(cat-back) from a company that has been around for over 70years now, not 10years...The Micra/March isn't a new car as the market makes it look. It's base chassis was conceived in 2010 in Japan. So that's already about 7 years this chassis exists. It's a good deal, none the less, but I rather get something that was made for the Nismo S version as it's the highest trim available for the K13 Micra/March.
I talk with someone that work with those guy and they were willing to sell me a catback exhaust for about 800$ not bad if you compare to the nismo axle back running for 680 retail
Or for a bit more, you can go for something with more history and quality in the exhaust world, Fujitsubo's Authoryze RM series, with the dry-carbon tail, 83 db @3000rpm.

Myself, I'm making arrangements to import Kakimoto's GTBox06&S for the Nismo S model, hopefully I'll have it equipped for the beginning of summer.
Be carefull with the exhaust spec. If you look at my nismo exhaust they say to be 86db but in reality its the same sound as the oem one
Well, yours is only an axle-back usually the sound changes when a resonator is included in the 2" line, the Kakimoto model I am getting sounds like this from this youtube clip. Also your Nismo axle back is not the same design as the one included with the Nismo S version, the sound is actually different and louder by a few dbs.

I don't know about everyone else but I think the stock sound of this car sounds great, a combination of the engine and exhaust has a little rumble and it's making me second guess getting a aftermarket muffler/ exhaust, maybe just a aftermarket slanted tip.
