Available LSD (not the ,well you know..)

So , I was wondering if there was a Limited Slip differential that I could get from another Nissan car to fit in the Micra transmission. I did that kind of swap in my Toyota echo with a JDM c160

there is probably something I could get brand new also but I would prefer a salvaged one

I've been looking into it and from what I can tell so far none of the compatible stock transmissions came with LSD.
The mechanical 1 way for the E12 Nismo S ( hr16de model) uses the same gears and transmission so it should work.
Bonus is the stock FD is 4.055 the Nismo LSD is 4.214.
But it's pricey at 180,000¥ plus shipping. Plus install. It would totally transform the car tho.

The open diff is useless. When one tire slips all power goes to the tire that slips.
This Nismo 1way would change that.

I will look into that to see if I can find a used one in a JDM shop or something ...

    might not be easy tho

2100$ is a bit steep for this but I will try to source out something

They just released the part last year so I doubt there will be a used one yet. Try upgarage maybe?

    Yep , I'll take a look there

If there is a sentra S-ER in the ''Graveyard'' I might also look into that VS a versa ... Get both tranny out and maybe work something out.

    http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/c...f/repair11.pdf
1.5 way mechanical lsd rs5f91r (FD 4.066 so basically same as stock )
    1.5way $1410USD TOMEIusa NISMO the 1way is $2100

    Versaspeed sells this one
    http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBa...=1455759442193
I have no specs yet but will lookin to it

    http://ew5.earlweb.com/recommendatio...age=5&brand=36

This confirms that the E12 does use te same transmission
So we can use the Nismo 1way or 1.5

I like Nismo because a lot of their parts are rebuild able

will a salvaged helical diff from a Rs6F94R ,RS6F51A or RS6F51H tranny fit in there ?

I might want to do the test soon or later :P

No clue. The rs6f94r would be good to look at especially if the guts fit inside our 5f91r casing.
This is still new unventured territory. Heck, there could still be differences internally that make the japes rs5f91r different from ours. It's unlikely from a manufacturing stand point but it happens.
If you have a good relationship with your source and you can discover and return if unable to use I say go for it. Torsen / helix / gear type lsd are built to last. So a used one is solid. Clutch types are rebuildable but not generally OEM. This could be a cheap option.
The one reason I would think not, is versa speed. They throughly research stuff, if they could use a jukes lsd from a local scrap yard they wouldn't try to sell you on a Renault LSD from UK.
