"Convenience" package full colour head unit failure

Over the past few weeks, on extremely cold mornings, my head unit seems to not want to work. The screen "Flashes" light black/full black with no Nissan logo a few times, then just does nothing. Restarting the car usually corrects this problem, though sometimes it takes a couple of tries. When I do get it going again, the clock shows the correct time and the phone bluetooth is remembered, but all of my station presets have reset to factory defaults. It's at over 95,000 km now, so it's obviously out of warranty. Does anyone else have this problem?

I decided to pull it to re-seat the connectors and consider what I might try in the aftermarket. I took this shot of the back. The top and bottom connectors on the left connect to the harnesses that provide power (bottom), speaker output (bottom), and steering wheel controls (split between top and bottom somehow). The smaller white connector has nothing connected to it. The blue connector is for USB input, and the light brown connector is for the antenna. The head unit is made by Panasonic.

i believ you can run a diagnostic on the headunit by pressing buttons on it.

refer to the AV FSM for the nissan Versa 2016

    http://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual?fsm=Versa/2016 Versa Note/

    ts AV roughly page AV-71

    1. Turn the ignition ON.
    2. Turn the audio unit OFF.
    3. While pressing the preset 1 button, turn the volume control dial
clockwise and counterclockwise quickly approximately 15 times
or more. Shifting from current screen to previous screen is per-
    formed by pressing BACK button.

Very cool! I checked the error log, and it said, "AV Comm circuit 11 h/f connection error 2." I followed your link, but the service manual doesn't seem to be there; I get a "Couldn't open PDF" error. I'm guessing there's something in the FSM that might explain this?

i wonder if your battery is on its last legs ?...and it could be as simple as that ?

h/f COULD mean Hands/Free ...it seems to relate to the TEL

I THINK 2 is the number of times you have had the error

The lord and Dr Nissan are the only ones who know what "circuit 11" is

from what i gather, there is a big bluetooth module the radio connects to.

so POSSIBLE the radio isnt connecting to the bluetooth module well (at least on CAN)
