    canoe fits ok!

    Took the kids out tonight. Worked out great!

    There was another sponge at the back as well but it must have fallen off when we drove over some very bumpy unpaved road. (On the other side both sponges stayed in place.) There was very minor damage to the paint surface where the sponge was missing but we fixed it ourselves with a clear coating. If you get proper canoe pads - which are thicker and less slippery - I wouldn't worry at all.

    Birch bark to make a canoe also fit inside a Micra... with an aluminum ladder strapped down for support...
