With no big changes from 2015 to 2016, Micra reviews from the media have slowed to a trickle.

But here's one from doubleclutch.ca -- the same guys who also reported on the Micra Cup race prepped Micra from the media day at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) last week.

They spent a week in a base S with the 5-speed, and came away suitably impressed:

    Likes:

    - responsive 109 hp engine vs. power in competitors' cars (Spark, Mirage)
    - fun to drive
    - darty at highway speeds, but better planted than Spark
    - fuel economy (6.4L / 100 km observed in a week of driving, which beats the official rating)

    Dislikes:

    - rubbery shift quality; clutch a bit vague
    - no bluetooth

    Overall:

The 2016 Nissan Micra S is a cheap, honest subcompact that’s aimed fully towards value ... far from a subpar penalty box ... the best-driving choice right now.
