    Someone hit my car today.

On the way to work sitting at a gas station waiting and some guy backed right into my side doing about 10 km/ h. My wheel was turned so that s what he hit. No other visible damage. We were both amazed and relieved. My wheel is scratched and bent inwards and the alignment is off. Cars at the dealership now.Name: IMG_20160705_131149.jpg

Dodged a bullet? (Well not really - you still got hit.)

That bites, but I'd much rather replace a wheel/control arm / tie rod end than have to do bodywork/paint.

    Faster turnaround, too.

Encouraging that you could drive it to the dealership.

That sux bro. I got my stock steeles if you want to borrow them for a bit till the rim/tire is replaced.
Some ppl have no respect/common sense. I was sitting in a parking spot and had someone drive right into me as well. So I know the pain. Hope your fix up soon!

Well car is back in our yard at my work. Damage assessment reveals a bent rim, bent strut, possibly bent control arm, they say they won't know for sure about the arm until the new strut goes back in and everything lines up and of course an alignment. Everything including the control arm about $2200 taxes and labour in. Plus the inspection cost me $112+tax.

I couldn't believe it, such a hard hit, and I get out and can't see a scratch. I expected the whole side to be done. Thankfully my wheel was turned and I think the rubber took the brunt of the hit. Did you know that a single SR rim is worth $920+tax? Glad I got wheel insurance, I'll look into making a claim for that when I get details about who's paying for all this. This could work in my favor or it could really suck big time for me. Best case scenario I get a coil over upgrade and new rims, worse case I pay $1000 deductible. Either way probably not a good chance I will be at the cup race this weekend.

The Culprit a 1980 GMC Sierra carrying a full load of scrap metal. He was loaded so much that the bumper was only about a foot off the ground. He had no rear view because of the load and I guess he didn't check his side view mirrors. I watched him jump in the truck and then reverse about 3 full vehicle lengths back and right into the side of me. He didn't need all that space to turn and drive away but he was being careless and kept on coming straight back so he wouldn't have to turn.

    Did you honk the horn?

I once saw someone backing up carelessly and realized they were going to hit another car parked beside mine. I leaned on MY horn (I was the next car over). Didn't help. They kept coming despite the horn and smacked it. It was bumper to bumper square on though, so no damage.

vapor I also have my stock suspension siting around. so if you can get a LCA and tie rod then we can get you back on the road.

Doh, sorry to hear about the accident. Its always a pain to take care of the after math even if it isn't a catastrophic event.
