So this is what i did this long weekend. trunk bumper protection.

Could be long, and again.. bad english.. try to understand. Apologies.

I was inspired by a member with his metallic protection for his dogs to jump in the hatch... well.. my dogs will never be jumping to the hatch themselves, because they are too small. but that part still need protection, because i do lots of grocery and transport lots of things in the truck....

Since i m not a big fan of chrome, and I m cheap, so i have decided to just go with protective stickers.

I got them from Aliexpress for less than 5$, many colors available. Originally planned to have the black one applied, and have a transparent one applied on top of the black one, because the transparent one is thicker. but after i got the black one, it's actually pretty thick, so i only used the black one.

I took the measurement, and made myself these on a A4 paper.

once i got the A4 paper cut, i bring it down to the car, and try the measurement. then come back, cut 2 pieces of the black sticker, place the A4 on top and use a cutter to cut it. then i will get 2 identical pieces of black sticker. one for the right side, one for the left side.

Clean the trunk bumper with alcohol and dry it. then you can stick the black piece. use a credit card or a tool to avoid making bubbles.

If there's bubbles, do not hesitate to pull it out and reapply it again. One side done!

    And this is finished product:

    Have fun.

$ stores are great! Nicely done for a good price! Thanks for photo's of work in progress and finale.
My dad keeps a blanket in the hatch and drapes it over the side when loading/unloading items as he's always transporting machinery and tools, etc. I wish I took shots of the hood deflector in progress, but it was hellion hot, and I don't do hot!

The film I used looks good but I'm sure it isn't as tough as the stuff you used, so for the best of both worlds, I would apply it over what you've already done.

I didn't use your measurements, but I used your template idea.

Good eye, that is a dollar store welcome mat! Keeps stuff from sliding around and protects!

Does anyone know if it's legal to do this?

Oh, love it! I have my tanabe decal on the front, where it's not obstructing my view. I thought this was the front, but now i see the sprayer for the back, or is it the front? This isn't a Micra I believe.

Looks like this is the 3rd brake light hooked up to say Nissan instead of just lighting up. If that's the case, you can't cover it at all, unless you copy this or add your own wording. And, after what Chris went through with wiring, I'd have it done at the dealer, pass the buck onto them if they screw up anything. It's neat though.

IF I did this, I'd have it say NISMO! lol
