I imagine it would be really fun with the suspension tightened up. You'd want power steering with a faster ratio though.

I like driving the car. I only have a temporary (10 day) permit on it right now, then it'll be parked until fall.

If Nissan hadn't introduced the Micra in 2014, I would have bought the Yaris. I wish they still called it the Tercel and didn't taint it with a sedan version.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

wow thats a pretty seriuos tear....or wound, as id cal it.

i was THIS close to buying a used yaris....i love how the 2nd gen hatch version looks. however, for a number of reasons (including that all these yaris in my area are 4k CDN and yet have way north of 100 000 km, and lack useful options that i have in my micra), i went for the micra instead.

    and also...

ever since someone on the internet called the new Yaris a 'fu manchu', i cant unsee it.

    Echo rust repaired

I repaired the rust on my Echo: cut back to clean metal, welded in patches. (There are FOUR(!) layers to the Echo rocker panels: inside, outside, plus 2 inner strengthening layers).

Not the best colour match on the rubberized rocker coating, but close enough!

    ^ It's strong again.

And after doing the repair, I also oiled inside the rocker.

Let this be a lesson to everybody:

Get anti-rust treatment for your Micra! It will be sad if 10 years from now some of the first 2015 Micras will be needing this kind of surgery.

Tercel! That was my first car, of the 1993 variety. It was a base model, power nothing. I still have it too. It is in dire need of attention though as it mainly just sits off the side of my driveway awaiting the much needed love...

Here is a picture from when it was on the road being daily driven.
