    hmm..... I am doing 6.5 L /100 KM

Based on the dashboard meter.. but i have the feeling that i go to gas station more often than my Yaris 2008 RS.. is it the fuel tank difference or it's leaking some where...

On my Yaris, i fill up every 15 days.. now, i m filling up my Micra every 12-13 days...

    weirdddd...

Yaris 2008 fuel tank is 42L
    Micra is 41 L.

I can see the 6.5L if your doing a lot of highway driving. That's pretty much what I get going down the Hwy 401, etc. But in city my average is 5.4 all day long. I find I'm filling up my stick shift, 9 Imperial Gal car around once every 4 to 4 1/2 weeks and the car is driven every day.

I find my micra uses the same amount of gas as my 16 year old Corolla.

Yes, i do lots of highways.. basically 90% of my driving is on highways 70 - 120 km/hr.
I am few blocks away from highway, and literally working beside a highway exit.

I only started checking the numbers now

Micra advertised for Automatic, 8.8 City, 6.6 Hwy.
    Yaris 2008 advertised 7.1 City, 5.6 Hwy.

No wonder I am filling up more often. I really didn't know that a 7 years old Yaris was more economic than a 2015 Micra...

My previous Micra K12 160SR from 2006 has the same engine, HR16DE. I guess Nissan made it a little bit more fuel efficient, but it's far from a new engine.

For 2015 energy Canada changed how they estimated efficiency numbers, across the board all vehicles went up in l/100km. Saying that, the Micra is nowhere near as good as it should be, especially at 110 kmh+

No vehicle is good over 110. I get just slight under the advertised fuel milage, but lately ive been 100% city driving. But the cold has a definite effect on it!

According to fuelly, Yaris hatchbacks average about 6.6. If you look at our fuel log at the top of the forum. Thats about what we get.

NRCAN switched to a more accurate testing regimen for 2015 models... Micra was the first one to employ it.

Also try to remember, the Micra wasnt built for fuel economy first- it was built for overall cheapness.

We've determined that the in-dash fuel economy estimate is off by 0.8 - 1 L/100km or so, iIRC...I doubt it'll be as good as a Yaris for fuel economy, as the Micra is geared more for fun.

In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

although i haven't driven the car bone dry, the average economy and the actual mileage i get seem to be in the ballpark. I haven't taken bigblue for a long highway stint yet. May have to take a run to Montreal!
