    SuperBumper or How to Minimize Bad Luck...

    Here is a product that looks interesting in light of my past experience...any thoughts or comments?

    http://superbumper.com

    The main concern is how will it mount?

    Interesting and huge! On the video, it looks like it's mainly for large trucks. Great idea with the cushioning to absorb impact. What about height??? Will any type of car come in contact with that first? Love the idea.

    Still investigating the viability of this solution...

    I leave the trailer hitch ball on the Torrent especially for those morons who need to "Bump 'n feel" whenever they pull into a parking spot.

    In our culture obsessed with absurd excess, the Nissan Micra is my counterculture car of choice.

    If you live in Ontario, dont. Just. Dont.

    HTA OREG 611 Vehicle Safety Inspections
    Schedule 1
    1. (1) The body, sheet metal and equipment shall be inspected and tested for conditions hazardous to occupants, pedestrians or vehicles and,
    (a) no bumper, fender or mudguard shall have been removed;
    (b) each bumper shall be securely mounted;
    (d) no bumper, fender, molding or other part shall have a broken, bent or sharp edge that protrudes in such a way as to constitute a hazard to persons or vehicles;

    Falls under part (D) as "other part) and will net you a $150 to a sharp eyed officer. Its not worth the headache nor the hassle and it's not going to make a huge difference in a rearender... Maybe for keeping people away from using the bump and feel parking method..

    I only suggest this because the neighbor just got fined for it, but his is a small fold down step on his pickup truck. Very similar in design.

    Now my personal opinion.. Well. If they are dumb enough to crash into it and its on the rear of the car.. @*! them. They get what they deserve. Hell. I'd put spikes on it as a visual deterrent.

    Not only that and that its too low, if you get smacked as hard as Ajijic and myself recently did then that thing does nothing except maybe become a projectile.

    ^ This is true. Might just become embedded in the tailgate or bumperskin.
