Went for a mini road trip to High River, AB. While there, I hit the 3000 km mark on my 17' Micra.

For some reason my pictures are now going sideways, weird?

[QUOTE=ABMicra17;19973]Mia and I went on a road trip this afternoon.

Hope you had a great road trip; hopefully not too smoky down there. Even though our Little Guy didn't originally come with one, we had the cabin air filter installed at his first oil change & it really helps
    Nice!

This week hasn't been that bad. Last week and the week before were the worst. There was one day the smoke was so bad you could taste it. I haven't had that since I lived in Southern BC as a kid. When you look to the west you can sort of make out the mountains. This has been the worst year when it comes to smoke in recent memory. It was a great morning trip out of the city.

This was an unexpected road trip I did yesterday. I went outside of Drumheller, AB. It was the longest trip I have done in the Micra(Mia) since I bought it almost 3 months ago now. The Micra did well and for the 4 hour round trip I was very impressed. I did 97 km/h(speed was 100) round trip(for optimal gas milage), I wasn't in a rush. It handled well but with some of those cross winds and semi's coming from the opposite direction was a bit sketchy. I pulled over a few times to let the few vehicles pass that thought I should have been driving on the Autobahn, again not in a rush. It performed well coming out of Drumheller driving uphill through the Coolies(I think that's what they are called). I wasn't sore at the end of the trip, I think it helped I stretched every so often. I wish the offline GPS I had on my phoned performed better like my Micra(Mia). It had sent me one way(map says "turn" and the voice says "go straight). on the way there and a different way on the way back. Kind of hard to have a sense of direction when everything is flat and looks the same. Mia is so small compared to the large trucks that drove around us. I didn't see any other Micra's though, sigh!

For anyone thinking of buying a Micra(if you don't already have one). Do yourself a big favour and get AC and Cruise Control. I almost never got it when I considered a Micra. With the heat and the long, flat land drives, having those two things made the drive a lot better. Oh and Spotify.

I know that this isn't the most in-depth review of the Micra, with tons of pictures. The big review will be when I head back to BC in the spring time. I'm sure to expect the same results as Micra In the Mountains did when traveling through Southern BC.

I am sorry that I didn't see the giant dinosaur or go to the museum. I hope that the next time I am up there I can do those things. Don't flame me for not going.

Picture 1: Is at the sign for Hanna & Drumheller, AB, it's kind of hard to see.
Picture 2: Was at the Dinosaur sign going into Drumheller, AB.

Well, it's fall now in central Alberta, and we decided to take the Little Guy on a short trip to Elk Island National Park, just 30 east of Edmonton on the Yellowhead Highway this past Thanksgiving long weekend, before the snow finally decides to stay. Lots of tourists milling about, with the occasional bison mowing what's left of the grass...

Dinosaur Provincial Park north of Brooks is another interesting drive; there's a dirt road loop thru one part of the park that will take you by some active dino dig sites; we're planning on taking Little Guy down there again next summer
