Tachometer to connect to OBD connector

I have a basic March (Mirca) without a tachometer.

Has anyone used the OBD connector to pickup the tach signal for an after market tachometer?

If so, your input would be much appreciated, i.e. connector interface, tachometer used and placement, etc.

    Thanks in advance...

The only OBD-II gauge with digital numeric tachometer I have tried in the Micra is a ScanGauge, but it offers a lot more than just the tach:

I actually haven't seen a tachometer-only gauge. But I'm sure they exist. There are probably some OBD gauge packages that use a smart phone as the display.

I would prefer an analog display since it it easier to determine rpm at a glance.

    Agreed: analog is better.

Or digital display of an analog gauge, like:

IMO, rpm is very easy to read at a glace with scan gauge.
I dont believe there is a odb connectable tach. i believe an analog one would need to be hard wired to the ecu.

The OBD connector has a connector plugged into it via the factory.

Is this the pickup for the dash readout? If so, how can you use a ScanGauge and still maintain the dash readout simultaneously?

It has the scan gauge plugged in... Lol.
The port is empty until you fill it.
I was just showing you the location.

Thank you, however, the one in my car has a plug connected to it...? It is located to the right of the fuel and hood release. Maybe the model for the Mexican market is different?

The OBD-II connector is always open here. It's a diagnostic port.

Looks like this (but this isn't the Micra's):
