Wow you have something connected to the diagnostics port?
    Can you share a pic?

Someone here with a Micra will have to confirm the location of the port in the Canadian car.

    ---

But if that really is a standard OBD-II port, it is possible to get an adapter that lets you plug in 2 devices.

Here is a picture of the OBD-II port on the Canadian Micra. I checked it by connecting a reader cable to it from my MS609 scanner. It's easy to get to. Picture should make it easy for someone to locate. Big white connector to the right of the Fuel/Hood release just over your left leg when seated in the car. Ajijic's picture looks a lot like the other connector in this picture way towards the back by the floor just under the Hood release. You can see just part of it in this picture.

Ajijic, is that (photo from LilGeckos) the same connector as in your car?

No, photo from LilGeckos shows female connector as part of the diagnostic connector system. My photo shows the plug (male) connected to the female port; as best as I can make out.

Here is a "blurry" picture of that other connector by the firewall. Ajijic is correct, it is certainly not that one; too many wires. It seems strange to have something from the factory installed in the ODB-II port though. I always thought that they had to be clear for servicing purposes.
