Tow hook (micra cup style tow hoop)

This is inexpensive functional jewellery for your micra. It would be strong enough to tow your car to staging lanes or up a return lane but likely not enough to lift the front or get jerked out of the ditch by a truck and neither is the steel bumper behind the skin. All you need for this is a $3.09 ring bolt , 2 washers and an extra nut to set your depth. So I would not have to drive 45 minutes to my shop I had them in the auto service part of CT weld the eye closed on the ring bolt for additional strength. If you have a long enough drill bit you can do this with the bumper skin on as long as the bit will go through the back wall of the bumper before the drill chuck hits the front you should be ok. After removing the little cover cut the foam preformed circle out and drill in the center of the hole in the foam on the crease in the bumper to slightly larger than 3/8". After paint I remove 3 pins from the bumper skin so I can fit my hand in to put the washer and nut on. Obviously you also have to make a hole in the cover thing but if you want to remove the hook it's a new cover and Presto what tow hook? The yellow on the black really pops and I have had lots of positive feedback on this.

I'm curious as to why there is that removable piece on the front of bumper if they didn't make a tow hook spot themselves without us drilling into it?
