    Windows, UV filter, tint

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have details about the level of UV filtering provided by windows on the 2015 Micra ?

I'm leaning towards some aftermarket tint film (3M Crystalline 70/90 or Llumar AirBlue 80) for, in part, UV protection of the interior, just wondering how much of a difference such a film would give me over the standard UV filtering (if any).

    Thanks

There are lots tint options, best to talk to a shop about what products they carry.

Express that your looking for uv protection. Im going to use 12%tint on the rear and 20% tint on the front.
Technically I think the windows are 400uv to begin with. But not sure.

    And yes. Tinting does help

I couldn't find any direct info on the Micra, but here is some general info:

Not All Car Windows Protect Against UV Rays

... windshields absorb 100 percent of UVB rays, which cause sunburn, and around 98 percent of UVA rays, which don't cause sunburn but can do long-term damage to the skin.

    ...

...side windows usually absorb only 65 percent of UV rays.
