    Engine rev limiter

I assume there is an electronic engine rev cut-off on our 1.6 L engines. By chance, is there anyone here who was brave enough to reach the rev limiter / fuel cut-off point?

I'm just curious to know at which RPM the rev limiter kicks in. Not that I want to try it myself...

It's there, trust me. Second gear is tons of fun on a highway on-ramp, but runs out way too soon.

Theres a soft cut an hard cut ..
    Hard cut is 6500
Soft cut is around 7000 ish
The cut depends on load, fuel, timing etc.

I find at about 6500 it'll hop on the limiter. Standing start is a little higher.

    So what happend then?

It won't happen with my car because I have the automatic version and I don't plan on going at 160km on the highway.

The engine just won't rev any higher. It's a safety to stop the driver from revving it until it explodes lol

I think it is run by the throttle by wire system or fuel cut for the speed limiter as you dont hear a rev limiter in 5th gear.
