Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has had as bad of luck as me. Just hit 8000km and just got rear ended. I also had to get a new windshield at less than 1000km.
The car held up great getting rear ended though lol.

I'll grab some tomorrow, the rear bumper just got a few scratches, and looks pretty much flawless otherwise.
The real issue is that the metal behind the bumper is pretty bent and it appears that frame got bent too because there are lopsided panel gaps now that are pretty significant.
That being said, she said she was doing about 40 when she hit me.
Aw man... I feel like there has been a death in the family..
The micra doesn't really have a frame, per se, but generally speaking if the damage is beyond the bumper and the body has been crushed... Well, needless to say. It could be toast.
What you are really going to want to look for is ripples under the spare tire. The trunk and quarter panels(not so much of a panel) are crush zones in most unibody. If there are signs of the floor or side panels in the trunk rippling, the car is likely a write off as the frame has been weakened and will not have the same strength. Cars these days are only really built for one impact.
Here's a more.. extreme example on a prius.
Im certainly not trying to frighten you or anything. But these cars are small. It needs every ounce of strength it has to protect people in the car. And if the metal is already weakened, next time may not be so lucky.

I'm having a drink to celebrate the life of Spencer's micra. RIP.
So some news on my car... They decided to fix it. They don't know how bad the damage will be until they take it apart; but they're expecting it to be around $4000 ish. With the rain, I also found out that my car leaks now too!
So sad
Im really surprised its not a write off.
Do you have "new vehicle replacement" ?
Depreciated value coverage?

That's not right. for a brand new car they should have replaced it. Now it lost its value even more because it's dammaged. And now you say it leak water?? maybe the frame is more damaged than they think?
