You should be able to do this without taking the bumper skin off. I only had to because I had to trim my condenser coil screen I installed this past summer.

It'd be the same as how I routed it, but I would not want to open and close that access door frequently in the frigid cold.

Also, I did not really look at the condenser, so I can't help you there.

It's that time again. Today routed the block heater cord to the right lower grille as I could take one section of the condenser coil protection out and not expose any sensitive bits.

have not bought one yet, tonight I checked to see if the receptacle outside worked before I invest in a cord and timer.

Crappy Tire has a sale on winter rated "block heater" extension cords $10 for a 10m, and also some of their outdoor timers suitable for block heaters are on sale.
