It USED to be standard equipment when the car came out as a 2015 model. I think it was still standard on the 2016 cars, but not from 2017 on.

Yeah, it was standard equipment on all trims when the Micra came out in 2014, but now it's a dealer option. Probably a cost-saving / profit-increasing tactic.

Makes sense to use a "sacrificial" cord for all the plugging/unplugging/exposure to the elements, and leave the OEM cord tucked away in the engine compartment.
