Mine had something simular. ended up being the down pipe...on the down pipe heat shield. it seemed intact but half of it rusted appart. Chattering more when cold.

So rusty. Your also missing the exhaust donut. Mine did that. I don't have a welder so my options were either a stainless kit from China or Hong Kong OR keep the muffler system intact and cheap out....

An impact gun made this easy for me. I can't remember if there is an allen key slot on the top of the strut nut, but a pass-thru socket wrench will make it easy.
